Home english | Events | Arrival of the FSW machine 2006 On the 10th of March 2006 it finally happened! The rub-stir welding plant of MTS arrived at the institute of material science at the Technical University of Graz. This machine is a state of the art research and development plant, with which during welding more than a hundred parameters can be recorded. After successfully installing the system and also introducing the staff, the first aluminium weldings were performed. Because of the very special equipment of the machine, it is also capable of steel welding! The first rub-stir weldingjoint (spot-welding) of steel in Austria was held on the 23rd of March 2006.
